As students of art history know, the "Old Masters" were the European painters regarded as the best artists before about 1800. And they were, for the most part, men.
Ursuline College's Florence O'Donnell Wasmer Gallery turned that concept on its head this winter by inviting women artists of Northeast Ohio to submit artworks for a juried exhibition. More than 100 residents responded to the call. The result, The New Masters: Women Artists of Northeast Ohio, opens with a reception and awards ceremony on Friday, February 16, 5-8pm.
Join us for this engaging exhibition and help celebrate the creativity, skill and vision of women artists in our midst.
At the Feb. 16 opening, enjoy entertainment, catered refreshments and the excitement of the cash prize award announcements.
The gallery is free and open to the public.
